IMPORTANT NOTICE: Our hours are Monday-Friday, 5:30 a.m. - 6 p.m. (closed Saturdays). The fitness center is re-opened at half capacity with these modifications:
A maximum of 15 people on the fitness floor, 5 in the studio and 5 on the walking track
A minimum of 10 feet between people in the fitness center (many of our machines will be roped off and/or turned off to accomplish this)
No water fountains or water bottle stations (you’ll need to bring your own water and ensure you have enough for the duration of your workout)
Locker rooms, showers and changing areas will remain closed (you’ll need to arrive in your exercise attire)
The single-person restroom in the fitness center is open and handicap accessible (you may also use the upstairs restrooms if needed)
Fitness classes will remain on pause
Everyone entering or using the fitness center must:
Enter through the downstairs main door and exit through the fitness center side door (opposite corner from the main fitness entrance).
Wear a face covering when entering, leaving and moving about the Wellness Center but may remove it during exercise.
Have their temperature checked before entering the fitness center; anyone with a temperature above 100.4 will be required to leave the premises
Fully sanitize each piece of equipment before and after each use
If entering after 3 p.m., use the 2nd floor entrance (via parking lot off Berry Road). From there, you can access the fitness center via the elevator, stairs, or spiral staircase on the walking track.
The building, including the fitness center, is being cleaned and sanitized each night.
The fitness center, located in the MNPS Employee Wellness Center at Berry Hill, is open to MNPS certificated and non-certificated (support) employees, retirees and their spouses; children and adult dependents are not eligible at this time. Visit our FAQs page for more about eligibility.
The fitness center, offers a variety of options to help you get or stay in shape. First-time visitors must sign a liability waiver before using the facility.
The fitness center’s elevated walking track overlooks the exercise floor. The track features ECOfit rubberized flooring, made from recycled materials and designed to provide a comfortable, no-slip surface for bodies in motion. Twenty-five laps equal one mile. Small lockers are available at the track for keys, phones, ID badges, street shoes and other small personal items.
Our exercise floor offers a full range of strength and cardio equipment. Vanderbilt fitness associates are available to show visitors how to safely operate the equipment and answer questions. To schedule an equipment orientation, speak with an associate at the fitness center desk on the first floor.
Fitness classes are offered in the fitness studios on the first floor. Classes will include yoga, Zumba and more. Walk-ins are welcome. Note: Group fitness classes are paused until further notice. Follow us on Twitter (@MNPSWellCenter) for some do-at-home ways to stay active.
Showers and lockers are available in both the men’s and women’s locker rooms, located on the first floor. Towels are provided. Note: Lockers/showers are closed until further notice.
